Puppet animation: Lift

We also tried our hand at puppet animation using Dragonframe. I was very intrigued by the whole exercise and I definitely have a new found respect for puppet animators(an area which was very alien to me up until now).

Here’s a little something that I created:

I also did a rough version of the lift in 2D on procreate. It still needs a few frames and the timing needs to be adjusted.

Story time: group activity

The first week of animation was overwhelming to say the least. Coming from a non-design/art background, all the technical jargons and software seem daunting. However, I am hoping to ease into it soon. The first in-person class included an activity with three other classmates. We were supposed to create a story with inanimate objects. Our story majorly had four characters who were stuck in a box. We took inspiration from Toy Story. All our characters had different personalities and we had a lot of fun while brainstorming on the whole story and giving them their own voices and opinions.

So meet the creators and the characters!
